The journey of Kamomata wasn’t planned!
It formed naturally, like a blob of clay finding its
shape in playful hands.
What started as a hobby, an excuse to play and
unwind, soon became a deep passion.
Pottery wasn’t just about making things.
At first it was about escaping the everyday, getting
messy, and embracing the joy of creating something
totally unique, textures, shapes, wobbles and all.
The turning point?
A late-night conversation at the pottery studio in
2022. While packing up, my pottery teacher and
currently dear friend, listened as doubts crept in.
I asked “Is my work good enough? Will people
judge?” But she believed in the magic already taking
shape. Her encouragement was the final nudge to
start sharing these creations with the world.
At first, the business went by Piece of Pottery, but
something didn’t quite fit. It needed a name that felt
as playful and full of heart as the process itself.
